The Ewanrigg Local Trust (ELT) held a "Meet Friendly Funders" event on October 8th 2 - 4.30pm at the Ewanrigg and Netherton Community Centre. It was soul that stole the show at this year's Maryport blues Festival. Carlisle group, Soul City Walkers, had the outdoor stage rocking and, at one stage, more than 1000 people dancing on the grass. It was another huge weekend for Maryport with plenty of blues of all kinds - traditional, rocking and modern - both on the marquee mainstage, in the rock and family outdoor stages and in pubs, clubs and cafes around the town. The Maryport Blues Festival has got off to a flying start. It opened on Thursday with the youth festival which saw 16 young West Cumbrian bands and individual artists coming together to showcase their talent. The blues proper started on Friday with a fantastic line up in the main marquee. There's no reason to be sad in Maryport this weekend but plenty of reason to be blue!
